Keep Maurice Hinchey out of Utah for good.
I’m from New York State, but I’m very familiar with The Utah red-rock Wilderness bill that has been introduced for the past 20 years. My federal representative Maurice Hinchey who represents New York’s 22nd Congressional district is the chief sponsor of this bill. This is an outrage, Hinchey has absolutely no business trying to tell other states what they can and can’t do with their own land. In New York State the unemployment rate is sky rocketing and we are hovering right around the national average. Over the past year we have seen more than our share of job losses. What we need is a representative that’s going to focus on our needs and concerns rather than trying to limit access to 9.4 million acres of Western land. Now is the time to unite and send a strong and clear message to Congressman Hinchey that we’re going to get him out of Utah and out of office for good. Over the past 3 years I have been working with George Phillips who is a Republican/Conservative running for Congress against Hinchey. I invite you to take a look at our campaign and to visit our campaign website. We can’t do this alone but if we could get some crucial financial backing that would certainly help us defeat Congressman Hinchey. I thank you so much

Letter of Support for George Phillips
I have been working with George Phillips for about the past two and a half years, and even more extensively in 2009 helping to secure our base for the 2010 election. I have done everything from research projects to traveling to the Hudson Valley and even New York City to meet with potential donors. I have been asked a few times why I would give up so much of my time to campaign for George. For me it stems back to October of 2007. A buddy called me and informed me that George was going to be running for Congress, and invited me to his press conference at a local restaurant. At the time I had never met George before I had only heard about him briefly in conversations with my buddy. I decided to attend the press conference and when I had a chance to meet and talk with George I realized right away that he is down to earth and understands our needs and concerns. He’s very approachable, easy to talk to and get along with. What inspired me to help George on his run for Congress is his deep belief in core values. He believes in moral, ethical, and family values. That hit a homerun with me because that was the type of family that I grew up in during the 1980’s. Over the years however our country has stumbled significantly and lost focus and lost touch with the very core values that so many of us were brought up with and what our great country was founded with. Our founding fathers had a simple vision of small government, of the people, by the people, for the people. Everyone knows that our Government is anything but small. When George is elected to Congress he’ll going to Washington to restore the vision that our Founding Fathers had for our Country. It’s been an honor and privilege to work with George on his campaign and I hope that everyone has the same opportunity to meet George that I did . Thanks so much.

George Phillips Responds to President Obama’s State of the Union Address
George Phillips Responds to President Obama’s State of the Union Address
George Phillips, candidate for Congress in New York’s 22nd district, released the following statement in response to the President’s State of the Union address on January 28, 2010.
“President Obama’s State of the Union address was delivered in his typical, eloquent fashion, and it is encouraging to hear that he has finally realized what so many Americans have known for some time. The real concerns of our citizens today are the need to stimulate job growth and reign in the reckless spending we’ve witnessed during this administration thus far. Unfortunately, a temporary spending freeze which affects such a tiny portion of the budget is a small step in the correct direction. While saving $250B over ten years is a nice idea, it fails to carry much weight in an environment where Congress is running up a roughly $200B deficit each and every month. The President simply failed to offer a bold enough vision to rein in spending and create jobs. The real solution is to be found in broad tax cuts for small businesses and individual Americans which will get this country going again.
“The President touched on many other subjects, several of which seemed geared toward appeasing his liberal base, and it is unfortunate that he still seems determined to attempt some sort of government takeover of the health care system. One of the most important areas Barack Obama spoke of is education.Sadly, he still fails to realize that the path to improving America’s educational system will be found in offering real choice in schools to parents and building a competitive environment where good teachers are rewarded and successful schools prosper, attracting more students.
“Jobs, fiscal discipline and substantive improvements in our educational system are some of the chief goals I will be working toward in Congress. Unfortunately, we are going to continue to face a situation where billions of dollars are needlessly drained from small town America and wasted by Washington bureaucrats. Last night’s speech demonstrated that the current administration and their Democrat allies in Congress have not yet come to grips with these issues in any meaningful way.”
